The AllowedPaths subkey of winreg contains a list of the registry paths that all users can access remotely regardless of whether or not they have been given permissions to the winreg subkey. AllowedPaths permits users to perform some system functions that require remote access to very specific registry keys , such as checking the status of a printer, without having to grant those users access to the winreg subkey.
To view the permissions set for the AllowedPaths subkey, use Regedt32.exe. On the Security menu, click Permissions.

The paths specified in the AllowedPaths subkey can be accessed anonymously.
