Monitoring Ultrasound in Read-Only Mode

Users who are granted read-only database access can use Ultrasound to monitor FRS and perform basic tasks that do not require updating the database. When a user with read-only database access runs Ultrasound, the console title bar shows [Read Only] and the user can perform the following tasks:

• View information in all tabs and dialog boxes.
• Start the Ultrasound Help file.
• View entries in the incident log.

Users with read-only database access cannot perform the following tasks:

• Make changes in the Configure Ultrasound dialog box, including:
  • Adding or removing replica sets to monitor.
  • Changing reference members.
  • Installing, updating, and uninstalling providers.
  • Scheduling domain controller and provider polling.
• Manually poll providers for data.
• Add comments to the incident log.
• Respond to alerts.
• Create or update propagation tests.
• Customize row filters or health metrics.
• Configure default notifications.
• Configure Ultrasound options.
