Remote Shell service

The Windows-based Remote Shell service allows users to use a remote computer to execute commands on the computer running the Remote Shell service, much like the UNIX rsh daemon.

For information about installing the Remote Shell Service, see Install Remote Shell service.

For information about starting and stopping the Remote Shell Service, see Start and stop Remote Shell service.

For general information, see Using Remote Shell service.

In addition to this Windows-based service, Windows Services for UNIX provides a corresponding Interix-based daemon that runs under the Interix subsystem. For more information, see rshd(1).
