The single-rooted file system in Interix hides the multivolume nature of the Windows file system. Earlier releases did not have a single-rooted file system. They used the calls _prefixInstallPath() and _getInstallPath() to retrieve and prepend the Interix installation directory to a path name. These calls will still work correctly with this version of Interix Software Development Kit (SDK).
