1. Open Services for UNIX Administration.
2. If necessary, connect to the computer you want to manage.
3. Right-click Server for NIS, and then click Stop.

• To open Services for UNIX Administration, click Start, point to Programs, point to Windows Services for UNIX, and then click Services for UNIX Administration.

• At a command prompt, type:

  nisadmin [server] stop [–u user [–p password]]

Argument	Description
server	The name of the server you want to stop.
user	The name of the user who has administrator permissions on the server to be stopped, if different from the current user.
password	The password of the user who has administrator permissions on the server to be stopped, if different from the current user. If you type a user name but omit the password, you will be prompted for the password.
