Introducing Quest Reporter : Database Maintenance : Creating New Tasks : Maintenance Tasks : Rebuilding Table Indexes

Rebuilding Table Indexes
This task rebuilds the indexes for all of the tables in the selected database. It requires no parameters other than the scheduling of the task.
Quest Reporter will switch to the Simple mode of transaction logging (see Set Database Recovery Model.) during this task to avoid the creation of excessively large log files. When the task is complete, Reporter will return the transaction logging to its previous value.
The execution of this task is very resource intensive and it will block access to tables whose indexes are being rebuilt. Quest strongly recommends scheduling this task while the database is offline or during off-peak hours.
