Setting up class memberships and dependencies

You can assign classes to a package, and set up dependencies that define the package's relationship to other packages and classes. Each package may belong to one or more classes, and may depend on any number of classes.

When a class is named as a dependency, any package in the class satisfies the dependency for that class. There are two types of dependencies:

Dependency
The class must be present on the managed Pocket PC to which the package is assigned.
Exclusion
The class must not be present on the managed Pocket PC to which the package is assigned.

Every line in the Dependencies list must be satisfied on a managed Pocket PC for the package to be assignable to it. If a line contains two or more classes, any class in the line satisfies the dependency.

When a package is assigned to a managed Pocket PC, the Symantec LiveState Delivery Command Center identifies any unsatisfied dependencies on the Pocket PC and prompts the Site Administrator to take appropriate action.

The LiveState Package Classification window shows the class memberships and dependencies that are currently set up for the package. You can set or change the class memberships and dependencies for the package as required.
