A disaster recovery plan is a plan to resume or recover a specific essential operation, function, or process of an organization. Although disaster recovery usually is used to describe information technology and telecommunication services recovery, other services an organization uses to conduct operations can and should be considered part of a plan. For example, an organization's people also are subject to the effects of a disaster and planning should include the impact on them and the resources necessary to help them recover so they can perform their duties.
