Step 1

Stop and disable the Portmapper service.

Before you install NFS on the media server or client(s), look for the ONC Portmapper service. If it exists, stop it and disable it. Otherwise, the installation of NFS Services for Windows fails.

Step 2

Enable NFS.

Enable NFS on the following:

  • The NetBackup media server

  • The Exchange granular clients

Step 3

Disable Server for NFS.

You can disable the Server for NFS on the following:

Step 4

Disable Client for NFS.

You can disable the Client for NFS on the NetBackup media server.

If an Exchange granular client resides on the media server, do not disable the Client for NFS.
