Time periods

On this screen, choose whether to recover the database from the most recent backup information, or from a specific point in time.

The options on this screen are available based on the choices that you made on the last screen. If you chose to perform a restore, the Restore Time options are enabled. The requested date & time values are compared to the date & time of the available backup images. The image with the latest date & time that precedes or matches the requested date & time is used for the restore.

For a restore from the latest backup image, choose Restore from the most recent backup images.

For a restore to a specific point in time, choose Restore from backup images taken on or before. The date field and time field are enabled. Choose a point in time date and time to specify the backup image to be used in the restore.

If you chose to perform a recovery, the Recovery Time options are enabled. Typically, the rollforward date & time should be later than the restore date & time.

You have the option not to replay any of the logs. To restore the database and bring it immediately online, choose Do not rollforward - bring database online immediately after the restore.

To recover to the last available log, choose Rollforward until the end of available logs.

For a recovery to a specific point in time, choose Rollforward transactions logged on or before. The date field and time field are enabled. Choose a point in time date and time to specify the end date for logs to be used in the rollforward.

Click Back if you need to change your user account or purpose for the recovery before continuing.
