By Example
Lets you enter specific
criteria to search in fields organized the same as the window where
you search.

Find criteria
Click in any column space and enter the appropriate search
criteria.

Compare method when not specified by 1st
character
Select the appropriate method here if you do not want to search
by using the 1st Char Compare
option.

1st Char Compare
In the Name column, enter one of
the displayed special characters to the left of the entered
text.
Using one of these
characters overrides any other selected comparison method. Do not
add a space after the special character.

Direction
Select Up to highlight the
previous item found or select Down to
highlight the next item found.

Match case
-
Move all items found to top of
list
Moves all items that match to the top of the pane.

Clear
Click to clear all the criteria that you specified.

Find All
Click to start the search and find all items that match the
specified criteria.

Find
Click to start the search.
-
Cancel
Cancels the search and closes the dialog box.

Advanced
Locates items based on
the specified criteria in an individual field or in multiple
fields. In addition to comparison criteria, matching criteria can
be specified to help narrow the search. If you know in which column
the data is found, using this tab may be faster.

Field
The name of the column where you want to search.

Comparison
From the drop-down list, select a comparison type for the
search.

Value
The alphabetic or the numeric string that you want to
search.

Match case

Add
Adds the criteria to the criteria list. All items in the
criteria list are used for the find operation.

Criteria
Shows the search results.

Remove
Deletes the selected result.

Match items that contain ALL of the
criteria (AND)
Performs a search where all defined criteria must match.

Match items that contain at least one of
the criteria (OR)
Performs a search where only one of the criteria must match.
