Restoring from Backup Exec backups

To restore Backup Exec images in NetBackup, the NetBackup administrator must first import the images into NetBackup.

For information about importing Backup Exec images into NetBackup, see the NetBackup Administrator's Guide, Volume I.

After the Backup Exec images are imported into NetBackup, use the following procedure to restore from those backups.

Note:

The option Restore the file using a temporary file name is not available when you restore from Backup Exec images.

To restore from Backup Exec backups

  1. Click File > Select Files and Folders to Restore > from Backup Exec Backup.

  2. Select the files or directories (folders) to restore.

  3. Preview a list of the required media to restore:

    Click Actions > Preview Media.

    If the backup images required to restore the data are on disk storage units rather than removable media such as tape, no media is listed.

    Click OK to close the dialog box.

  4. Click Actions > Start Restore of Marked Files.

  5. In the Restore Marked Files dialog box, select from the following options to meet the requirements for the restore:

    Destination

    Restore Options

    Select from the following restore options:

    Job Priority

    You can change the priority of this restore by clicking Override default priority, and then set a priority number.

    The default is 90000. The available range is 0 to 99999.

  6. Click Start Restore.

  7. In the dialog box that appears, click Yes to view the status of the restore.
