Select or enter the name of the VMware backup host or Hyper-V server.

Select the name of the VMware backup host from the pull-down list. If the VMware backup host does not appear in the pull-down, make sure it was added to the Host Properties setting in the NetBackup Administration Console:

See Adding the VMware backup host to the NetBackup configuration.

The VMware backup host is a NetBackup client that performs backups on behalf of the VMware virtual machines. A single VMware backup host can perform backups of many virtual machines.

The Hyper-V server is a Windows hypervisor-based virtualization system, for creating virtualized operating systems that run in Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2. The Hyper-V server must contain a NetBackup client.
