About the Device Configuration Wizard

The Device Configuration Wizard guides you through the process of discovering and configuring robots and drives. If you use the wizard, you can configure devices faster and eliminate many common mistakes that may occur if you configure devices manually.

Symantec recommends that you use the Device Configuration Wizard to add, configure, and update the following types of devices:

In some cases, the wizard may leave some devices partially configured.

The Device Configuration Wizard stops and starts the daemons and services. Therefore, ensure that backups are not active when you use the wizard.

Run this wizard on the master server.

If your device configuration changes or needs to be verified, use the Device Configuration Wizard. However, ensure that no jobs are active when you change or verify your configuration.
