User identity in the audit log

If NetBackup Access Control (NBAC) is not used in an environment, administrators must have administrator (or root) privileges to configure and run NetBackup. In large environments, this can mean that multiple administrators share the same root logon.

To differentiate between administrators in the audit log, NBAC must be enabled. When NBAC is enabled, the audit report displays the actual user identities that are associated with audited actions.

Information about NBAC installation and configuration is available in the NetBackup Security and Encrytion Guide.
