Use for: Backup, duplication, or Snapshot destination

Select how the destination is to be used.

Storage destinations can be used for the following purposes:

For Backup images to be written to the destination as part of a backup operation.
For Duplication images to be written to the destination as part of a duplication operation. During the duplication operation, backups are duplicated to secondary storage.
For Snapshot images to be written to the destination as part of the snapshot operation.

Note:

Snapshot destinations cannot be used as the source for any duplication.

If a storage lifecycle contains multiple destinations, a multiple copies operation is implied.
