Starting a new download

The Download Manager enables you to download a file in a safe and reliable way from any Web site. It has been designed to specifically handle downloads from Microsoft portals.

To start a new download, you can do so from a Microsoft download Web site that supports the use of the Download Manager, or manually download from the Download Manager Window.

To download a file from a Microsoft Web site:

1.      If required, log in to the download Web site.

2.      Navigate to the required download page.

3.      Click the link or button to download the required file. The Download Manager automatically starts.

To manually download a file:

1.      Open the Download Manager.

2.      In the Download Manager Window, click the New download icon on the toolbar. The New Download dialog box opens.

3.      In the Download URL text box, enter the location of the file to be downloaded.

4.      Click OK to start the download.
