Pausing and Continuing Windows Agent Actions

In the Scope pane expand Computers.
Click All Computers or a computer group name to display the member computers in the Result pane.
In the Result pane, select the computers that you want to pause.
Right-click one of the selected computers and select Computer Actions > Pause/Continue.
In the Active computers list of the Pause/Continue Computer Actions dialog box, select the computers you want to pause.
Click Pause.

The Agent for Windows current phase on each selected computer pauses until you continue the computer session. The selected computers move from the Active computers list to the Paused computers list.

In the Pause/Continue Computer Actions dialog box, Shift-click or Ctrl-click the computers whose Agent for Windows actions you want to continue and click Continue.

The Agent for Windows for each selected computer resumes executing any remaining phase for the current job and then executes all other jobs in the queue. The selected computers move from the Stopped computers list to the Active computers list.

Click Close.

Pausing and Continuing Actions of the Agent for Windows

There may be occasions when you want to temporarily pause the actions of the Agent for Windows; for example, if there is excessive network load creating a bottleneck. After a computer session has been paused, you can continue the session and the execution of the remaining jobs.

Note: You can only pause actions of the Agent for Windows. Actions of the Pre-OS Agent cannot be paused.

Pausing Agent for Windows Actions

In the above stages, the computer remains in a wait state until the session is continued. While in the wait state, the computer cannot be operated locally.

Continuing Agent for Windows Actions

When you continue the actions of the Agent for Windows, the computer waits for the Waiting time specified in the Server Properties dialog box and then executes all jobs that remain in the queue.

If the Agent for Windows is...	The computer session is paused...
preparing to execute the job, but has not started the script.	and the job is not executed.
executing the script.	at the completion of the current phase or at the next phase that does not include a reboot.
executing the script and performing a reboot.	at the completion of the next phase that does not include a reboot.
