There may be times when you want to move a computer from one Configuration Server to another.
When you do this, Symantec LiveState Delivery deletes the selected computers from the source server and integrates them on the target server. The computer configuration, including packages and hardware jobs, are also integrated on the target server.
The packages that are installed on the computers of the source server, must reside on the target server. If one or more packages is not on the target server, the computer cannot be moved.
Verify the following before you attempt to move a computer:
The packages assigned to the computer on the source server also exist in the target server’s depot. If a package is missing, you cannot move the computers.
The source server and target server use the same boot protocol (BOOTP or DHCP).
The computer is formatted as FAT. If the computer is formatted with NTSF, you must first convert the file system to FAT.
Warning: Failure to follow the specific tasks to move a computer may result in the irreversible loss of computer data from Symantec LiveState Delivery. Be sure that all tasks have been completed, and have a status of DONE before attempting to move a computer.
