Configuring FSA Reporting data collection for a file server

You must configure FSA Reporting data collection for each file server target from which you want to obtain reports.

Note:

Before you can configure data collection for any file servers you must have configured the FSA Reporting database.

The data collection configuration does the following:

If the FSA Reporting database is already configured when you run the New File Server wizard or the Install FSA Agent wizard, these wizards provide options to configure the FSA Reporting data collection.

You can also perform the data collection configuration from the Properties of the target file server, as follows.

Note:

If you configure FSA Reporting data collection for a file server, Enterprise Vault automatically enables data collection for any existing target volumes.

When you add new target volumes you can enable them for data collection, if required.

To configure FSA Reporting data collection for a file server

  1. In the Administration Console, expand the Enterprise Vault site until the Targets container is visible.

  2. Expand the Targets container.

  3. Expand the File Servers container to show the file servers that have been added.

  4. Right-click the file server you want to configure and, on the shortcut menu, click Properties.

  5. On the Reporting Data Collection tab, check Enable data collection for FSA Reporting.

  6. To define a non-default schedule for data collection, uncheck Use default schedule for FSA Reporting data collection and supply the required data collection schedule.

  7. To extend data collection to the file server's physical drives, check Collect data from all physical drives as well.

  8. Click OK to save your changes and close the Properties dialog.
