Enterprise Vault and Microsoft server clusters

You can cluster Enterprise Vault in a Microsoft server cluster on Windows 2003 Enterprise or Datacenter Edition, to provide a high availability solution for Enterprise Vault.

High availability is provided by creating an Enterprise Vault virtual server that can fail over between physical nodes in the cluster. When Enterprise Vault services are running on a virtual server they operate with virtual IP addresses, a virtual computer name, virtual Microsoft Message Queues, and highly available shared disks. When a failure occurs, the cluster software can move the virtual server's resources to a different physical node in the cluster.
