PST Locator Task Properties: Settings

Registry search. Select this to make the PST Locator Task scan the registry on computers that it finds, looking for PST files that are listed in Outlook profiles. This is much quicker than scanning the hard disks. You are recommended to use this method initially and then later scan hard disks.

Hard disk search. Select this to make the PST Locator task scan the hard disks on the computers that it finds, looking for PST files. This method is slower than scanning registries. You are recommended to use Registry search before using Hard disk search.

Find domains and computers using:

By default search for PSTs on each computer. Make the PST Locator Task automatically search for PST files on new computers that it finds. If you do not select this, the PST Locator Task adds new computers to the computer list but does not search for PST files on them until you select Search this computer in the properties of each new computer.
