Enterprise Vault maintains a list of all the mailboxes that are on its Exchange Server.
You can update the list at any time by clicking Synchronize on the Exchange Mailbox Task or Exchange Journaling Task Synchronization property pages. You might want to do this if, for example:
You want the list to have up-to-date quota usage information because you are migrating PST files or are exporting archived items into mailboxes.
You have just created a mailbox and now want to enable it for archiving. The mailbox does not appear in the list of new mailboxes until the synchronization has occurred.
You do not need to use the option when you enable or disable mailboxes because Enterprise Vault automatically performs a full synchronization of those mailboxes.
. Select this to update all the mailboxes. This option also finds mailboxes that were created since the last automatic update.
. This presents you with the existing list of mailboxes so that you can select the ones to synchronize. Note that mailboxes created since the last automatic update do not appear in this list. If a mailbox you want does not appear in the list, select All mailboxes, which does find new mailboxes.
. This synchronizes the policy settings from Site Properties and the configuration settings. Select this if, for example, you have changed which buttons and menu options are displayed by the Outlook Add-In.

. This synchronizes the properties of the mailbox and also the access permissions. Select this if, for example, you have modified a mailbox property, such as .
. This synchronizes mailbox folders with archive folders. These are automatically synchronized on each run of the Exchange Mailbox Task.
Click to start the update. If you are updating a single mailbox's details, you are presented with a list of mailboxes from which to select one.
