Archive Properties: Archive Usage Limit

The Archive Usage Limit tab lets you set a maximum size for this archive.

When the archive has reached its usage limit, no more items can be archived in it unless the limit is changed. There is no immediate indication that an archive has reached its limit.

Archive limit status. Shows whether this archive is within its usage limit.

Possible values are as follows:

Limit exceeded. No more can be stored in this archive unless you change or remove the limit.
Within limit. There is still space in this archive before it reaches the limit you have set.
Unknown. This archive's limit has been modified. The status is updated the next time that Enterprise Vault examines the archive.

Limit archive usage. Controls whether this archive is subject to a size limit.

This setting can be any of the following:

Disabled. This archive has no size limit.
Enabled. This archive is limited to the size you set on this property page.
Use Vault Store setting. This archive is limited to the size shown by Inherited size limit.

This limit is the one set on the Vault Store Properties: Archive Usage Limit property page.
Use Site setting. This archive is limited to the size shown by Inherited size limit.

This limit is the one set on the Site Properties: Archive Usage Limit property page.

Archive size limit. Set a maximum size for this archive. If you want to use this setting, also set Limit archive to Enabled.

Inherited size limit. Shows the size limit from the property page that is shown in Limit archive usage. This archive is limited to the size shown here.

Send notification to user when. Use these settings to control whether Enterprise Vault is to send mail to a user whose archive is approaching its maximum limit. You can control whether to send mail when a specific amount of space remains, or when a specific percentage of the available quota is reached.

The notification is triggered when an item archived from a mailbox takes the usage level over the threshold. The mail message is sent to the mailbox from which the item came. If an archive is shared, any mailbox that causes the limit to be exceeded receives a notification message.

This option is available only for mailbox archives.

Send notification to user when:

Approaching the size limit. Select this and then specify a threshold to make Enterprise Vault send a warning mail to users whose archive size reaches the threshold. You can select a specific number of megabytes, or specify a percentage.
Size limit reached. Select this to make Enterprise Vault send mail when a user's archive has reached its storage limit.
