This page is only displayed if the Site includes a vault store partition on an EMC Centera device.
Using the setting on this page, you can associate an EMC Centera retention class with the Enterprise Vault retention category. When items with the Enterprise Vault retention category are stored on the EMC Centera device, the associated EMC Centera retention class is applied to the Centera clip instead of a numeric retention period.
The retention period that is specified in the Enterprise Vault retention category should match the retention period that is specified in the Centera retention class. If these do not match, then the following situations can occur:
If the period that is specified in the retention category is longer than the period that is specified in the retention class, then the item becomes eligible for deletion from the Centera sooner than expected.
If the period that is specified in the retention category is shorter than the period that is specified in the retention class, then Enterprise Vault cannot delete expired items, because the items cannot be deleted from the Centera.
The section displays information about the Enterprise Vault retention category. The information in this section is updated automatically if you change the retention category name, Retention period, or Base expiry on values on the General page in Retention Category Properties. If the value of Base expiry on is inherited from Site settings, then the value that is displayed on this page reflects the value that is set on the Storage Expiry page in Site Properties.
