. Each vault store can have any number of closed vault store partitions. Enterprise Vault does not archive content into partitions while they are closed.
. Each vault store can have only one open partition. While it remains open, Enterprise Vault archives content into this partition. If you change a partition's state to , Enterprise Vault automatically closes any existing open partition, and archives content to the newly opened partition.
. Each vault store can have any number of partitions that are ready for partition rollover.
or . The date and time that the vault store partition was last closed or opened. If the partition has never been closed or opened, is shown.
. An optional description for the partition. This description is visible only to Enterprise Vault administrators.
. This option applies to partitions for EMC Centera only. Select this check box to make Enterprise Vault take advantage of the sharing capabilities of the EMC Centera device. If you choose this option, Enterprise Vault stores the shareable parts of a saveset as separate data blobs, so that the EMC Centera device is able to share them.
