. Enables you to turn on performance monitoring of important aspects of Enterprise Vault. If a monitored item reaches its threshold, a message is logged in the Enterprise Vault event log and in the Windows Application event log.
If you have other tools to monitor event logs you can then, if necessary, be notified when such messages are logged. Select this to turn on monitoring of all the items in the list that have been selected. Clear this to turn off monitoring of every item in the list.
When you enable monitoring for an item, Enterprise Vault turns on a performance counter for that item. Thus you can also monitor the item using Windows Perfmon, or any other programs that you use to monitor performance counters.
The list shows all the monitoring settings that you can change. Click an item in the list to see information about it under .
The columns are as follows:
. Shows the type of monitor. Select this to enable monitoring of this alert. Clear this to disable monitoring of this alert.
. This is the level at which Enterprise Vault logs an event. For example, if has a of 2 Days, an event is logged if the Enterprise Vault has not been backed up after 2 Days. If you want to change the threshold, click the current value and enter the number. Click to implement the change.
. This is how often Enterprise Vault checks this item. In the case of performance-related items, this is the frequency with which Enterprise Vault writes the associated performance counter. If you want to change the frequency, click the current value and enter the number. Change the units if necessary. Click to implement the change.
. The time at which measuring starts. If you do not select a time, the statistics are collected when the monitoring process starts and then at the interval defined in the column.
. Click this to run every enabled check immediately. Use when you want to run all checks without waiting for the scheduled times.
You can also run all the enabled checks from the section of the Administration Console.
. Click this to change the selected item back to its default setting.
. Click this to change all items back to their default settings.
