Configure general information for tools
Use the
General tab in the
Tool Properties dialog box
to specify details that identify each tool. An asterisk (*)
identifies required information.
To configure general information for tools
- Open the Tool Configuration editor, if it is not already open.
- Select the
Tools folder in the console tree.
- Click
on the
Configuration toolbar to open the Tool Configuration Editor
and display the Configure Tools dialog box or right-click to
open the Console menu and select Configure Tools.
- From the tools displayed in the selection tree, select the tool
you want to configure.
- Right-click to open the shortcut menu.
- Select Properties to open the Tool Properties
dialog box. Properties include:
- General information about the selected tool, such as the
display name of the tool.
- Details about the specific tool you selected, such as
the type of tool, the executable name, and script details, if
any.
- Target nodes on which the tool will run.
- Nodes and node folders associated with this tool.
The General tab displays by default.
- In the Display Name box, enter the name for the tool as
you want it to appear in the Tools list. This information is
required.
- Enter any comments or additional information in the
Description box. This information is optional.
- Select Show tool in message context to make this tool
available in the context of all messages.
- Select the Details tab to continue configuring this
tool. You will see a message prompting you for required
information.
