Partitioning for Windows NT 4.0 Workstation

The following CCM Pre-OS Agents are compatible with the Windows NT 4.0 Workstation operating system.

NOTE: Windows NT 4.0 Workstation operating system does not support FAT32 file system formatting.

Conversion to NTFS from FAT16 or FAT32

After the Windows NT operating system is installed you can use the FAT/FAT32 to NTFS conversion package, wntcvo3e.010, to make the conversion from FAT16 to NTFS.

Or, when installing the Windows NT operating system package, you can configure the following parameters to automatically convert the FAT16 partition to NTFS.

Restrictions

The conversion and enlarging parameters works only on the system partition.
To enlarge the system partition during conversion to NTFS, there must be free space behind the system partition. No second partition is allowed for this feature.
The maximum size after enlarging is restricted to 8GB by NT 4.0.
