The standard CCM Package Depot includes the CCM package files and their associated vendor files. The Vendor File Depot is a location, apart from the CCM configuration server’s package depot, for vendor files associated with CCM Application packages. The Vendor File Depot can be a local floppy, hard drive, or CD-ROM drive as well as a local server in the LAN. Both mobile and non-mobile computers can load the vendor files for a package from a designated Vendor File Depot. You can use vendor file depots to reduce long-distance network traffic and to enable mobile computers to install packages while offline.
In order to access different depot areas, you must set the following parameters in the CCM Windows Agent Settings package.
