Creating a Symantec Protection Network folder

Symantec Protection Network folders are the backup destinations for online backup jobs. You can create and configure multiple Symantec Protection Network folders for different online backup jobs. However, you can only run one Symantec Protection Network job at a time. After you download the Symantec Protection Network Online Connector and create a Symantec Protection Network folder, it is available to you as a device. You can view Symantec Protection Network folders on the Devices tab.

Note:

You cannot create a Symantec Protection Network folder or use the Symantec Protection Network for backups until you set up the Symantec Protection Network for Backup Exec and download the Symantec Protection Network Online Connector.

Symantec Protection Network folders can never be part of a device pool, including the All Device pool. You must always specify the individual Symantec Protection Network folder to which you want to target a duplicate backup job. This feature helps ensure that you don't accidentally send backup jobs to a Symantec Protection Network folder.
