Creating a custom filter for Backup Selection Lists

You can filter backup selection lists based on the following criteria:

To create a custom filter for Backup Selection Lists

  1. On the navigation bar, click Job Setup.

  2. On the Backup Selection Lists pane, in the Filter list, click <new custom filter>.

  3. Type a unique name and a description for this filter.

  4. Do any of the following:

    To filter by selection list name

    • Under Criteria, click Selection List Name.

    • Type the name of the selection list on which you want to filter.

    To filter by selection list description

    • Under Criteria, click Description.

    • Type all or part of the description of the selection list on which you want to filter.

    To filter by computers backed up by the selection list

    • Under Criteria, click Protected Server.

    • Type the name of the server on which you want to filter.

    To filter by resource type

    • Under Criteria, click Resource Type.

    • Check Enable this filter.

    • Select the check boxes for the types of resources on which you want to filter. Clear the check boxes for the types of resources on which you do not want to filter.

    To filter by policy

    • Under Criteria, click Policy.

    • Check Enable this filter.

    • Select the policy on which you want to filter.

    To filter by selection lists that are not protected

    • Under Criteria, click Not Protected.

    • Check Filter for backup selection lists that are not protected.

  5. Click OK.
