Manually uninstalling the Remote Agent for Linux or UNIX Servers

In some cases, you may want to manually uninstall the Remote Agent. Or you may want to manually start and stop the Remote Agent daemon. This section guides you through the steps required to run these manual processes.

To manually uninstall the Remote Agent for Linux or UNIX Servers

  1. Connect to the target UNIX host as the root user using a terminal session.

  2. Stop the Remote Agent daemon.

  3. Change to the /opt/VRTSralus/bin directory.

  4. Execute the VRTSralus.service-uninstall script to remove the Remote Agent daemon initialization files.

On HP-UX systems, the following line must be manually removed from the /etc/inittab file:

      /opt/VRTSralus/bin/VRTSralus.init.

  5. Remove all the Remote Agent files from the UNIX host using the following command:

    rm -r /etc/VRTSralus /opt/VRTSralus /var/VRTSralus
