To access
content on a computer running Windows 2000 Server
If the computer running Windows 2000 Server and the computer
running Windows Media Services are members of the same workgroup,
but do not belong to the same domain, create a new user account and
password on the computer running Windows 2000 Server. This user
account should not have administrator rights and permissions.
Create an identical user account and password on the computer
running Windows Media Services. You can create new user accounts by
using the Computer Management console. Grant the new user account
all of the same permissions and rights as the Network Service
account.
Configure Windows Media Services to log on using the new
account when it starts. You can change the account the Windows
Media Services Service uses to log on to the computer during
startup through the Windows control panel.
For more information about creating and
configuring accounts, passwords, and privileges, see Windows Help
and Support.
