To add a component to a configuration

  1. In the All Nodes pane, right-click the appropriate component, and then click Add.
  2. If Target Designer detects dependencies or conflicts, a message gives you the following options:
    Yes Target Designer adds the component and resolves all dependencies and conflicts.
    No Target Designer adds the component and ignores dependencies.

    To track your required changes, record the message, and then add or remove the relevant components later.

    Caution   ''No'' might result in an invalid configuration that will not build without error.
    Cancel The Add Component procedure is canceled.
  3. Right-click the component, and then select Properties, if available.

    For more information about setting properties, see the topic about the specific component. (For example: To set properties for a primary domain controller, go to Primary Domain Controller.)

    To add a new component under a capability, create a component definition file.

    You can set component properties after the component is added to your configuration.
