This message retrieves the handle of the edit control being used to edit a list-view item's text. You can send this message explicitly or by using the ListView_GetEditControlmacro.

Syntax

LVM_GETEDITCONTROL

Return Value

The handle to the edit control indicates success. NULL indicates otherwise.

If no label is being edited, the return value is NULL. The edit control is not created until after the LVN_BEGINLABELEDITmessage is sent.

Remarks

When the user completes or cancels editing, the edit control is destroyed and the handle is no longer valid. You can safely subclass the edit control, but you should not destroy it. To cancel editing, you can send the list-view control a WM_CANCELMODE message.
