This function is an extended routine that performs a synchronous operation to remove a leaf entry from the directory tree.

Parameters

[in] Distinguished name of the entry to delete.

Return Value
If this function succeeds, the return value is LDAP_SUCCESS.
If this function fails, it returns an error code. See the LDAP_RETCODEenumeration for a list of possible return values.

Call this function to remove a leaf entry from the directory tree.

LDAP does not support deletion of entire subtrees in a single operation. |
The parameters and effects of this function include those of the ldap_delete_sfunction. The extended routine includes additional parameters to support client and server controls and thread safety.
As a synchronous function, ldap_delete_ext_sreturns when the delete operation is complete. Use ldap_deleteor ldap_delete_extif you want the delete operation to be carried out asynchronously.
In a multithreading environment, calls to ldap_delete_ext_sare thread-safe.
