IDirectDrawSurface5::GetCaps

The IDirectDrawSurface5::GetCapsmethod retrieves the capabilities of the surface. These capabilities are not necessarily related to the capabilities of the display device.

Parameters

lpDDSCaps

Address of a DDSCAPS2structure that will be filled with the hardware capabilities of the surface.

Return Values

If the method succeeds, the return value is DD_OK.

If the method fails, the return value may be one of the following error values:

DDERR_INVALIDOBJECT

DDERR_INVALIDPARAMS

Remarks

This method differs from its counterpart in the IDirectDrawSurface3interface in that it accepts a pointer to a DDSCAPS2structure rather than the legacy DDSCAPSstructure.
