AsnOctetString

The AsnOctetStringcontains octet quantities, usually bytes. This structure is used by multiple SNMP function. This structure is not used by the WinSNMPAPI functions.

Members

stream
Pointer to the octet stream.
length
The number of octets in the data stream.
dynamic
Flag that specifies whether the data has been dynamically allocated with SnmpUtilMemAllocfunction.

Remarks

Use the AsnOctetStringstructure to transfer string values. For example, use it to transfer the string that represents a computer name as a MIB object value.

You must check the flag specified in the dynamicmember before you release the data stream of an octet string. Call the SnmpUtilMemFreefunction only if the dynamicmember is set to TRUE.

Note   This API is part of the complete Windows CE OS package as provided by Microsoft. The functionality of a particular platform is determined by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and some devices may not support this API.
