The SmartcardCreateLinkfunction registers a friendly name that an application can use to access the device through the smart card resource manager.

Parameters

pszFriendlyName
Points to a displayable friendly name. The driver should preferably provide a combination of the reader product name and the device number such as "XYZ Reader [1]".
pszDeviceName
Points to the existing device name such as "PSC1:" for which the link should be created.

Remarks

SmartcardCreateLinkis platform-specific and performs a different action for Windows CE drivers than it does for WDM or VxD drivers.

Note   This API is part of the complete Windows CE OS package as provided by Microsoft. The functionality of a particular platform is determined by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and some devices may not support this API.
