HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteAccess\Authentication\Providers\{1AA7F83F-C7F5-11D0-A376-00C04FC9DA04}\Servers\<Server-name>
Data type | Range | Default value |
---|---|---|
REG_DWORD | 0x1 - 0xFFFFFFFF | 0x2 |
Determines how many times the RRAS server sends an Access-Request message to the RADIUS servers. RRAS repeats the message if none of the RADIUS servers respond.
If a RADIUS server does not responded before the number of retries is exhausted, RAS terminates the connection and records an error in the System Log in Event Viewer. If the client tries to connect again, RRAS treats it like a new connection attempt.
Note
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
Tip
To configure a RRAS server to use RADIUS authentication, use Authentication Provider box on the Security tab in the Routing and Remote Access snap in.
