Removes the My Documents icon from the Start Menu and its submenus.
This entry stores the setting of the Remove My Documents icon from Start Menu Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry and the system behaves as though the value is 0.
Value | Meaning |
---|---|
0 (or not in registry) | The policy is disabled or not configured. The My Documents icon appears on the Start menu. |
1 | The policy is enabled. The My Documents icon is removed from the Start menu. |
A value of 1 only removes the icon. It does not prevent the user from using other methods to gain access to the contents of the My Documents folder.
To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Remove My Documents icon from Start Menu policy (User Configuration\AdministrativeTemplates\Start Menu & Taskbar).
Note
To make changes to this entry effective, you must log off of and log back on to Windows 2000.
