HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Directory UI
Data type | Range | Default value |
---|---|---|
REG_DWORD | 0 | 1 | 0 |
Displays the filter bar above the results of an Active Directory search. The filter bar consists of buttons for applying additional filters to search results.
This entry stores the setting of the Enable filter in Find dialog box Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry and the system behaves as though the value is 0.
Value | Meaning |
---|---|
0 (or not in registry) | The policy is disabled or not configured. The filter bar does not appear by default, but users can display it by selecting Filter from the View menu. |
1 | The policy is enabled. The filter bar appears when the Active Directory Find dialog box opens, but users can hide it. |
To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Enable filter in Find dialog box policy (User Configuration\AdministrativeTemplates\Desktop\Active Directory).
Tip
To see the filter bar, open My Network Places, click Entire Network, and then click Directory. Right-click the name of a Windows 2000 domain, and then click Find. Type the name of an object in the directory, such as Administrator. If the filter bar does not appear above the resulting display, then, from the View menu, click Filter.
