Description

Disables the Use transition effects for menus and tooltips option in Display in Control Panel. As a result, user cannot animate the movement of windows, menus, and lists.

This entry stores the setting of the Disable UI to change menu animation setting Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry and the system behaves as though the value is 0.

Value Meaning
0 (or not in registry) The policy is disabled or not configured. The Use transition effects for menus and tooltips option is enabled.
1 The policy is enabled. The Use transition effects for menus and tooltips option is disabled.

Effects such as animation are designed to enhance the user's experience but might be confusing or distracting to some users.

Change method

To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Disable UI to change menu animation setting policy (User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer).
