Specifies the category of programs that appears when users open the Add New Programs page.
This entry stores the setting of the Specify default category for Add New Programs Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry when you enable the Specify default category for Add New Programs policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry.

Category name | The policy is enabled. Only the programs in the category you specify are displayed when the Add New Programs page opens. |
To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Specify default category for Add New Programs policy (User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Add/Remove Programs). Type the name of a category in the Category text box for this policy. You must enter a category that is already defined in Add/Remove Programs. To define a category, use Software Installation.
Note
This entry specifies the default category only. It does not prevent users from using the Category box to select another category of programs.
This entry is ignored if the value of NoAddPage is set to 1.
