Description

Deletes specified Web content items from the desktop.

Users can add the items again (if policies allow), but the items are deleted each time the policy is refreshed.

This entry stores the item you type in the Delete box of the Add/Delete items Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry when you enable the Add/Delete items policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry.

Change method

To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Add/Delete items policy (User Configuration\AdministrativeTemplates\Desktop\Active Desktop). You can also use this policy to delete particular Web-based items from users' desktops. Users can add the item again (if policies allow), but the item is deleted each time the policy is refreshed.

Note

To make changes to this entry effective, you must log off of Windows 2000 and then log on again.
