AssignedOfflineFolders

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetCache\

Description

The AssignedOfflineFolders subkey stores a list of shared files and folders that are always made available offline.

This subkey and its entries store the setting of the Administratively assigned offline files Group Policy. Group Policy adds this subkey and entries to the registry when you configure the Administratively assigned offline files policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the subkey and its entries from the registry.

Each of the entries in this subkey has the following format:

Path and file name or Path and folder name REG_SZ (Blank)

Files in this list behave as though they are manually cached, just as if a user had selected the Make available offline option for each file. When you enable the policy, the system copies these files to the offline file cache of each computer's local hard drive. These copies are always complete, and are never automatically deleted as long as the policy is enabled.

If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, these files are deleted from each system's offline file cache. They remain in the cache only if users have manually cached the files independent of this policy.

Change method

To add, delete or change the value of entries in this subkey, use Group Policy. This subkey corresponds to the Administratively assigned offline files policy (Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files).

Note Image Note

This subkey can appear in both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER. If this entry appears in both subtrees, the list in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE is used and the list in HKEY_CURRENT_USER is ignored.
