REG_DWORD | 0 | 1 | 0 |
Removes the Display Favorites item from the Start Menu Settings box. As a result, users cannot add the Favorites menu to the Start menu.
This entry stores the setting of the Remove Favorites menu from Start Menu Group Policy. Group Policy adds this entry to the registry with a value of 1 when you enable the Remove Favorites menu from Start Menu policy. If you disable the policy or set it to Not configured, Group Policy deletes the entry from the registry and the system behaves as though the value is 0.
Value | Meaning |
---|---|
0 (or not in registry) | The policy is disabled or not configured. The Display Favorites item appears. |
1 | The policy is enabled. The Display Favorites item does not appear. |
To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Remove Favorites menu from Start Menu policy (User Configuration\AdministrativeTemplates\Start Menu & Taskbar).
Note
This entry only affects the Start menu. The Favorites item still appears in Windows Explorer and in Internet Explorer.
Tip
To display the Favorites menu, click Start, point to Settings, click Taskbar & Start Menu, click the Advance tab, and then, under Start Menu Settings, select Display Favorites.
