---|---|---|
REG_DWORD | 0x0 - 0xFFFFFFFF milliseconds | 0x4E20 (20 seconds) |
Determines how long Performance Monitor 4 (Perfmon4.exe) waits for data from its data-collection thread. If the thread does not return data within the time specified by the value of this entry, Performance Monitor 4 ignores the data and displays a value of 0 for the counter.
Consider increasing the value of this entry when you monitor remote computers over a slow connection, such as a dial-up connection using a modem. Because the program implements any value you enter, be sure to increase in small increments and test your changes.
Changes to this value take effect the next time you start Performance Monitor 4.
Note
This entry is only applies to Performance Monitor 4 (Perfmon4.exe), a tool provided only on the Windows 2000 Resource Kit CD. It does not affect System Monitor. To configure System Monitor, use the System Monitor Properties dialog box.
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
