Determines the source from which the PDH functions retrieve performance data.
In Windows NT 4.0 and earlier, the PDH functions used information stored in the registry to retrieve data collected by internal counters. In Windows 2000, PDH functions can also retrieve data stored by using the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) interface.
